My in-laws arrive today. This afternoon. And it's a great thing...I'm excited about them seeing the house (we're both so happy and proud of the place!), and they are lovely people. We've planned a dinner out at the Lost Moose Lodge tomorrow, with my mom joining us. I figure, the view will overwhelm...10 km up into the mountains, with a spectacular view:
But, the great advantage to having any visitors come, is the impetus they're imminent arrival gives to the cleaning, arranging, organizing of the space. Everyone has experienced it, so you'll all agree that there's just something about mothers coming to visit that get you motivated...right?
The place is looking its best yet!

Sounds like a wonderful time. I wish I could join you.
Reminds me of the second Friends episode ever, in which Monica's in a frenzy fluffing pillows on the couch before her parents come over to see her new place.
MONICA: Look, I'm sorry, guys, I just don't wanna give them any more ammunition than they already have.
CHANDLER: Yes, and we all know how cruel a parent can be *ABOUT* the flatness *OF* a child's pillow...
Did "Friends" have anything pithy to say about hundreds of ancient and mouldering cardboard boxes containing stuff that should rightfully have been thrown out many years ago?
Note: It's not just Mme Metro--it's me too. At least two of the boxes are mine.
Do you have tablecloths? Then the boxes are not boxes; they are end tables. Simple!
And no, I'm not ready to throw out my 4 large boxes worth of Bugs Bunny paraphernalia...
anyway -- the food at the Lost Moose Lodge was delicious, the service relaxed and attentive, the mascot dog (drooling outside the windows) cute, and the ambiance nicely moose-y and rustic. And the view stupendous!
